I'm focusing on the brain’s reward system since I believe that our actions can largely be explained in terms of reward-seeking and punishment-avoiding behavior. The influence of reward and punishment is particularly crucial during learning since it drives our motivation and will eventually lead to success or failure in achieving goals. Given the fact that treatment in autism often makes use of reinforcement learning strategies, I'm investigating the relationship between reward and learning in adolescents with ASD.
